Launched in November 2019, the Indonesia Tuna Longline Fisheries Improvement Project (FIP) began as a collaborative initiative between the Indonesia Tuna Longline Association (ATLI) and 17 founding companies. Driven by a shared commitment to marine sustainability, our network has expanded into a powerful alliance.
The FIP’s operational and monitoring activities are strategically focused within the Indian Ocean. Our scope encompasses two distinct jurisdictional areas: Indonesia’s Exclusive Economic Zone, specifically covering Fisheries Management Areas (WPP RI) 572 and 573, and the adjacent international High Seas. This ensures a comprehensive management approach across the entire migration path of our target pelagic stocks.
